Best Manicure and Pedicure: Chic Nail Designs

Oct 1, 2014 | 12:06 AM

Chic Nail Designs has built a reputation in Prince Albert for being the best when it comes to pampering your hands and toes.

They are the longest standing nail business within Prince Albert and staff at Chic Nail Designs look forward to making your fingers, nails and toes look their best.

“We are a full service salon, we do nails, pedicures, sugaring, eye lashes and we have a hair dresser as well,” said Co-Owner Chantel McDougall-Lidberg.

“We offer manicures, artificial nails, which include gel, acrylic, and fiber glass. We also offer shellac.”

Chantel and her business partner Virginia Eskes took over ownership of Chic Nail Designs from Chantel’s mother Ruth Poulin and her business partner Marie Romanchuck in 2013.

“My mom and her business partner were really pioneers in the nail industry,” said Chantel.

“Chic Nails itself has been open for thirty years we are the longest standing nail shop in Canada, which is kind of cool, and we were also the first nail shop to bring in gel nails. We brought it in from Germany when it first came out,” said Chantel.

Although Chantel and Virginia only took over Chic Nail Designs in 2013 both have over a decade of experience within the industry.

“I have been here for 17 years and I have had some of the same clients for 17 years, which is pretty amazing,” said Chantel.

Chic Nail Designs has four Certified Nail Technicians, one Journeyman Nail Technician, two Certified Pedicurists, a Certified Eyelash Technician and Sugar Technician plus a Journeyman Hairstylist.

Coming soon, Chic Nail Designs will also be offering certification training at their facility. They will offer four, three-month classes that will focus on nails 101, acrylic, nail art, and pedicures.

“We will be starting it as soon as possible and we are just putting together a class right now,” said Chantel. “We would like to keep the classes relatively small so they can have more of a one on one education,” she added.

Chantel said classes will most likely take place on Saturday’s and Sunday’s or Monday’s and will run a full eight hours. Each class will offer trades person accredited certification.

Prices at Chic Nail Designs are very reasonable currently clients can get a new set of nails for $65, a pedicure for $50, or shellac nails for $30.
