Weyburn residents continue to deal with flooding

Jun 19, 2011 | 12:38 PM

Crews at Weyburn's waste water treatment plant are working to get clean water back to the city but Sunday's forecast, which calls for continued showers could be a setback.

Mayor Debra Button said the Souris River has yet to peak.

“We know it's still rising. (Saturday) morning we evacuated a trailer park just on the boundaries of the City of Weyburn and about 30 people were evacuated from there by boat,” said Button adding any home could be hit.

“It’s two neighbours on one street and then it misses two and then the next one across the street all have it. It’s not sitting in just a single area of the city, it is pretty wide and throughout and it’s a lot,” said Button.
