Five routes to service free ‘Ding in the New Year’ transit option

Dec 31, 2017 | 8:00 AM

It is time to ring in the New Year, and with Saskatchewan boasting the highest drinking and driving rates in the country, SGI and the City of Prince Albert are working to ensure everyone arrives home safe tonight if your celebrations include alcohol, offering free transit options in the city.

Residents will have the option to “Ding in the New Year” by taking the free public transit offered from 7:15 p.m tonight to 3 a.m. January 1, 2018.

Accessible transportation options are also on offer this year. Those who require assistance can call the Special Needs Transportation Dispatch at the Community Service Centre at 953-4466.

Five routes will service the city tonight: the All Day Express, West Hill, East Hill, West Flat and East Flat routes. All routes will meet at the downtown Central Transit Transfer station.
