SPCA’s annual Adopt-a-thon event aims to empty provincial shelters
More than 500 pets in Saskatchewan are looking for new homes and animal shelters across the province are banding together to make it happen.
On Aug. 19 the Prince Albert SPCA and other facilities in the province are reducing adoption fees on cats and dogs as part of an initiative called “Empty Our Shelters.”
Over 100 cats and more than 60 dogs are waiting to be adopted from the Prince Albert SPCA.
“We have a huge influx of animals right now because of the season,” Kathleen Howell from the Prince Albert SPCA said. “We’re offering lower rates on the animals to try and help people enhance their homes with that furry friend.”
