Three Raiders make final NHL Central Scouting rankings

Ian Scott remains the Prince Albert Raiders’ top candidate for the next NHL draft.

The 17-year-old goaltender is the third rated North American goalie according to NHL Central Scouting.

The Calgary native who finished his second WHL season with a 12-31-3 record and a 3.69 goals against average, is in the Czech Republic with the Canadian entry at the world under-18 hockey championships.  

Scott is the top ranked netminder from the CHL in Central Scouting’s final list for 2016-17.

Parker Kelly made the list for the first time. The 17-year-old winger from Camrose, Alta. finished his second WHL season with 21 goals and 22 assists. The assistant captain recorded 29 of his 43 points in the final 30 games of the season. Kelly is rated 192nd amongst North American skaters.

Defenseman Zack Hayes rounded out the Raider content at 202nd amongst North American skaters. The 6’3” 212lb rearguard had two goals, 10 assists and 82 minutes in penalties as a WHL rookie.  

The NHL draft is June 23 and 24 in Chicago.
