Melfort thieves nab narcotics

Feb 26, 2017 | 7:12 AM

Two thieves made off with narcotics from a Melfort business yesterday morning.

Melfort RCMP were called to a local business for a break-and-enter complaint shortly after 5 a.m. yesterday. Their initial investigation suggested two suspects, one male and one female, stole what RCMP called “a significant amount of narcotics” from the business.

RCMP said the drugs stolen included codeine, methadone and morphine, primarily in pill form. The narcotics were legally stored at the business, RCMP said.

The investigation is ongoing, and Melfort RCMP said they will release more details as the case progresses.
