A 19-year-old Prince Albert man has been charged with trafficking a drug never before seen in the city.

On Feb. 20, Prince Albert Police Service was called to a residence to assist Parkland Ambulance. Six people were transported to the hospital for symptoms consistent with a drug overdose.

The next day, a search warrant was conducted at a residence in the 300 Block of 11 St. E. Police seized a quantity of unknown substances including a drug known on the street as 2C-B, a synthetic psychedelic drug. This is the first time P.A. police has encountered this drug.

A 19-year-old male has been charged with criminal negligence cause bodily harm, trafficking dimethoxybenzeneethanamine, or 2C-B, and possession of proceeds of crime.
