Saskatoon construction worker injured by wood falling five stories

Occupational Health and Safety is investigating after a construction worker was hit by a piece of lumber at a a Saskatoon construction site at Armistice Way and Preston Avenue Tuesday morning.

Saskatoon police, fire fighters and M.D. Ambulance responded to the call about the incident, which occured just before 8:30 a.m.

A two-by-four used as a wooden railing was knocked loose by a cement pumper truck. The piece of wood had been attached to the exterior of the building.

It fell and hit the 26-year-old worker, who was on the ground. He is not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries, but was taken to hospital by ambulance.
