City hall confirms ‘target’ for bridge construction completion

There has been some confusion regarding the bridge construction timeline.

A press release issued by the city on Monday, Aug. 15 said the construction work would be done by late September.

This was contrary to what Public Works Director Amjad Khan told paNOW last week. 

He said construction work was three weeks behind due to some unforeseen circumstances and the expected completion date was late October.

City hall’s Communication Manager Alanna Adamko confirmed Thursday for paNOW the September deadline was their “target.”

The bridge restoration work began in early May. 

The original timeline to finish the southbound side was after the July long weekend with the total project done by Sept. 8.
