The election race in Ward 7 is heating up.

Former Prince Albert city councillor Darren Whitehead said he plans to run in the uncontested ward. Former councillor Mark Tweidt stepped down from his seat in January.

Whitehead said his priorities include repairing back alleys, and allowing more public input on council decisions such as a private liquor stores.

Two other candidates, Dean Link and Lou Doderai, are also running in Ward 7.
