Police report ‘multiple injuries’ in house explosion in Mississauga, Ont.

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Police say there were “multiple injuries” and fire officials say there’s an unconfirmed report of one death in a house explosion Tuesday afternoon west of Toronto in Mississauga, Ont.

Peel Regional Police say the extent of the injuries isn’t known.

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie says one house was destroyed, while six others received moderate to heavy damage and another 18 were damaged.

Pictures of the scene show heavy damage to nearby homes and debris spread over a wide area.
