Traffic affected as bridge construction begins

May 2, 2016 | 3:03 PM

Long lineups were reported on the Diefenbaker Bridge Monday afternoon, the first day of a month-long restoration project.

A spokesperson for the city said concrete barriers are being installed today, May 2, which slowed traffic.

Wes Hicks, the capital project manager, said they will be watching the situation over the next couple days and will make changes if necessary including turning off the lights at 12th Street West

Parkland Ambulance reported no problems so far.
