Standoff suspect receives three month sentence
The man arrested following a lengthy New Year’s Day stand-off in Prince Albert, was sentenced Friday morning, Feb.5, at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
Clayton Albert, 34, pled guilty to two counts of uttering death threats in connection to the seven-hour standoff with police in the 400 block of 19th St. E.
During their sentencing submissions, the lawyers revealed more information about the case.
Police had first been called around 4 p.m., advising that someone was “highly intoxicated” and was “punching holes” in the wall. The caller called again a few minutes later advising police not to come, and said they would call again if the situation escalated.
