60 years of business for Anderson Motors

Aug 28, 2015 | 4:55 PM

After 60 years and four generations later, Anderson Motors is still thriving in Prince Albert.

The car dealership celebrated 60 years in Prince Albert on Friday with a BBQ.

A sale was put on for the occasion, but General Manager Don Jones said the day was not about selling cars.

“We’re selling everything at $60 over invoice, but that’s not the important part of today. We want to celebrate and have our old customers come in and celebrate with us,” Jones said.

“It’s not just us. It’s the community that supported us, the staff and all the organizations.”

Jones’ grandfather purchased the dealership in 1955. Jones purchased it from his father in the 90s and hopes his son will carry on the family tradition.

“We’re just P.A. boys that like living here,” he said. “This is who we are and this is what we do. We support the community the best we can and do business here and try to keep everybody happy as our customers.”

Anderson Motors recently opened a Nissan dealership in the city – a sign that even after 60 years, they are still looking to improve.

“It looks bright for Prince Albert. I think the economy is vibrant in Saskatchewan … It’s been very good to us over the last few years. Hopefully we can expand some more.”

“We’re not going anywhere.”
