POLL: City to host federal election candidate forum

Aug 18, 2015 | 12:13 PM

With the federal election underway, the city has decided to host a candidate forum – the first of its kind.

Unlike forums in the past, this will focus strictly on city issues rather than those of the entire constituency.

“Why we want to do one for the city is because we want to hear how the candidates are going to stand up for the city,” Mayor Greg Dionne said after city council on Monday.

“I think it has to be heard because the ridings are so big … so far they’ve talked generally about what they’re going to do for the riding. The forum is going to be directly what [they’re] going to do for the city of Prince Albert,” said Dionne.
