A man has been caught trying to bring child pornography into Saskatchewan from the U.S.

CBSA officers at the North Portal border crossing seized a number of computer storage devices as a man from Houston, Texas tried to enter the province on April 2.

Andrew Ferrer, 40, is charged with possession of child pornography and importation of child pornography. He made his first court appearance in Weyburn on Tuesday.

The investigation involved the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit. Its members are from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service and Prince Albert Police Service.
