Contractor plunges into Saskatoon water treatment plant tank

Feb 9, 2015 | 12:09 PM

A contractor is being treated by paramedics after taking a plunge inside a container at the Saskatoon water treatment plant.

It happened just before noon according to Troy Lafreniere, the water treatment plant manager. He said the tank is currently under construction and only contains paint and sandblasting materials.

“They have constructed stairs in there to get in and out because they’re doing a lot of work around it. So I’m not too sure how they’re going to get him out right now, but likely up the stairs on a stretcher,” Lafreniere said.

The contractor initially received treatment while inside the container, although Lafreniere was not aware of the severity of his injuries.
