Man charged after ice bucket challenge fail in North Battleford

An ALS ice bucket challenge resulted in a North Battleford man being charged this week after RCMP were called to a disturbance at a hotel. 

Around 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the man, who happened to be drunk, convinced a group of people at a hotel to help him do the popular challenge which is intended to be a fundraiser for ALS research. 

Usually the challenge is accompanied by a video which is posted online, unfortunately for the suspect nobody ended up getting his on camera.

Once the man realized that he was left soaked and cold he got really angry. He was kicked out of the hotel room and caused a scene until RCMP arrived.

The suspect initially told RCMP that he’d been assaulted by the people in one of the rooms, but it quickly became clear after officers spoke with witnesses that it was an ice bucket challenge fail that had set the man off. 
 
Officers also checked and found that the man was on several conditions including no alcohol. He was arrested and faces two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
