One of the men accused of killing Dakota Nayneecassum in the fall of 2012 pleaded guilty to a number of charges and will spend just under 11 years in prison.

Kyle Alexander Goodrich, 24, was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Prince Albert, but instead pleaded guilty to manslaughter, break and enter and assault causing bodily harm.

He was sentenced to 12 years, less remand time. He will only spend 10 years, eight months and two days in custody.

Goodrich, from Edmonton, originally faced a charge of first-degree murder in connection with Nayneecassum’s death on Sept. 15, 2012. Another man was seriously injured in the same incident.
