A Meadow Lake man known as a “survivalist” is the subject of a missing persons case.

RCMP say 46 year old Nels Bernhard Sibley left his home on New Year's Day.  He left dressed for inclement weather, wearing a snowmobile suit, winter bibbed pants, knee high winter boots, a fur cap with flaps, and mitts. He was pulling a toboggan filled with winter kit and items needed to survive in the bush.

Police say he has survived in the bush in winter weather before, living off the land. But he's also schizophrenic and has been off his medication.
