A car and train have collided in Saskatoon.

It happened at the intersection of Fairlight Drive and 11th Street at just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

A car went through the controlled intersection, then was hit by the train.

“The train pushed the car approximately 500 metres down the track, the passenger was trapped in the vehicle and required extrication tools to remove them,” said Greg Sayer, acting battalion chief with the Saskatoon fire department.
