Terriers beat Broncos in triple overtime in Anavet Cup

Shaq Merasty scored at the 3:43 mark of triple overtime as the Portage Terriers defeated the Humboldt Broncos 5-4 on Saturday night at the Elgar Peterson Arena.

After falling behind 3-0 in the Anavet Cup, the Terriers have won three straight games.

Merasty finsihed with two goals while Brendan Harms, Brent Wold and Andrew Wiebe had singles. Robbie Ciolfi, Josh Roach, Kameron Ballas and Andrew Johnston scored the Broncos goals. Adam Iwan made 46 stops in the Portage net. Matt Hrynkiw made 31 saves in the Bronco net.

The seventh game of the series is Sunday night at 7:30pm in Humboldt.
