Photo ID now required in all levels of Saskatchewan

Nov 30, 2010 | 8:08 PM

Photo identification will be required to vote in all levels of Saskatchewan elections now, including municipal.

The government has introduced changes similar to that already in place in Ontario and B.C.

Minister Darryl Hickie doesn't think the changes will put too much of a burden on municipalities given that it has been discussed with many groups.

“SUMA, SARM, the big city mayor's caucus, urban and rural administrators,” he said.
