Water advisory issued for rural residents around Prince Albert

A major area surrounding Prince Albert is under a drinking water advisory.

The advisory came into effect Tuesday, after a contractor struck a water distribution line while digging outside the city that morning, said Ken Danger with Prince Albert Rural Water Utility.

The affected area stretches from the Muskoday First Nation and west to include the Hamlet of MacDowall.

The advisory also extends to those within townships 46 and 47 in ranges 26, 27 and 28 west of the second meridian — and township 46 range one west of the third meridian.

The advisory recommends people boil their drinking water until further notice.

Saskatchewan Environment could not say how long the advisory will be in place.
