Sask. govt pledges $8M for new North Battleford hospital

It's an estimated $100 million price tag, but for now, the Saskatchewan government is spending $8 million to get the detailed plan for the Saskatchewan Hospital replacement in North Battleford.

Premier Brad Wall was at the 100-year-old psychiatric health facility to announce that the project is a go.

Wall's government had postponed the replacement project that was first announcement by the NDP, but Wall insists Thursday’s announcement is a step farther than the project has gone before.

“The government has never advanced $8 million to get the detailed design, which will take us to tender. There really isn’t any turning back at this point in our view,” said Wall.
