Levee breaks as Raiders flood Hurricanes
After struggling to score against the Regina Pats on Monday, the levee broke in Lethbridge on Wednesday night for the Prince Albert Raiders as they took an 8-2 decision over the Hurricanes.
Brett Leason scored for the fourth straight game just 16 seconds into the game, and Sean Montgomery made it 2-0 just minutes later. The Raiders would never relinquish the lead from that point forward as they kicked off a three-game Central Division road trip with a win.
“You can’t get them all if you don’t get the first one and coming in here to Lethbridge where they’ve been playing good of late we knew it would be a tough test, and it worked out for us tonight,” said Raiders Associate Coach Dave Manson. “Now we head to a tough building in Red Deer on Friday against another team that’s been hot.”
Coming into action on Wednesday, the Hurricanes had won three games in a row, and seven of their last ten while the Raiders had fallen in back-to-back contests against Brandon and Regina.
