Sports Year in Review: Barlage sweeps all SMAAAHL awards

As 2017 draws to a close, paNOW is taking a look back on the biggest sports achievements of the year, selected by our sports reporter Jeff D’Andrea.

Logan Barlage winning pretty much every Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League award gets him a spot in paNOW’s Top 10 Sports Stories for 2017.

After playing his 15-year-old season for the Prince Albert Mintos in the 2016-17 season, Barlage won the SMAAAHL League Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Top Forward and First Team All-Star.

Barlage scored 37 goals and 76 points with the Mintos in 44 regular season games, and another five goals and eight points in eight playoff games.
