Ten-year-old girls open impromptu iced tea stand to help SPCA
As they sat in camping chairs under their colourful umbrella with a dog in hand, two 10-year-old friends were cooling people down while also warming their hearts.
Brooklynn Gregg and her friend Rachel stood on opposite ends of their driveway along Highway 2 south of Prince Albert, urging people to stop by their stand and purchase some iced tea, with all the funds raised going towards the SPCA.
“I like animals and I want to help animals at the SPCA, so I am raising money,” Gregg said. “I just want to help animals. Sometimes they can be really helpful.”
Despite not owning any pets of her own, Gregg’s mother Jaime Laughren says she has always had a passion for animals and that it “warmed her heart” to see her daughter come up with the idea and run with it. More so, as this was not the first time the young girl had presented the idea.
