Mar 25, 2015 | 10:24 AM

The competition for the two goaltending spots for next season’s Prince Albert Raiders squad has just gotten more intense. The team has signed 17-year-old Curtis Meger. The Regina native has posted a 16-5 record with 3-shutouts a 1.91 goals against average and .934 save percentage with the regular season Saskatchewan Midget-AAA champion Pat Canadians. He will join returnees Nick McBride and Rylan Parenteau along with 2014 first round draft choice Ian Scott of Calgary in training camp.

The Raiders have also signed defenseman Ty Prefontaine. The 6’2″ Saskatoon native had 7 goals and 12 assists this past season with the Midget-AAA Contacts while also playing for Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games. Prefontaine was their  5th round draft choice in last spring’s Bantam Draft, while Meger was listed by the Raiders and signed as a free agent.
