PHOTOS: Power out in areas of PA after car collides with power pole

Nov 9, 2013 | 3:03 PM

For any Prince Albert residents who lost power on Saturday afternoon, it was likely due to a car accident that happened just off the intersection of Central Avenue and 22nd Street.

An ambulance, fire truck and police car were on the scene, just beside Kinsmen Park around 3:30 p.m.

Soon after a car hit a power pole, a young male spoke with the emergency crew members. Someone else was sitting in the car during that time.

A police officer on the scene said power in some areas was out because of the incident.

As of about 3:40 p.m., SaskPower had been contacted to assist in getting the power back on.

According to residents, the power has since been restored.

SaskPower did not yet have information on how many people were affected by the incident.

Police on the scene couldn’t comment on how the accident happened.

According to Parkland Ambulance, paramedics cared for a 41-year-old man with minor injuries and took him to hospital for treatment.
