September 18, 2018 Foundation Launches Ambitious Fundraiser to advance Vic’s Neo-natal Unit.

The Victoria Hospital Foundation is thrilled to officially launch their annual campaign for the Victoria Hospital.

This year marks the 13th anniversary for the Give a Little Life Radiothon, a 12-hour live broadcast from the lobby of the Vic Hospital on all the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group stations.

The event takes place on Friday, December 7th at the Victoria Hospital and kicks off a multi-year campaign with an end goal of raising 2.2 million to expand and upgrade the hospital’s Level 2 Neonatal Unit for our sickest babies.

Currently, our unit is a crowded 357 square feet with medical gases to manage only 4 sick babies at a time.  With a growing number of sick or premature babies being born and kept in Prince Albert, the time is now to dramatically advance our nursery to provide the right space and equipment here at home.

“We care for newborn babies in Prince Albert who are sick or born too early. These fragile babies will benefit so much from better space and the latest technology.”

Dr. Ayaz Ramji, Pediatrician, Victoria Hospital

“Advancing our small neonatal unit is a bold but critical goal.  We are excited and prepared, to work hard alongside our local community to ensure our most fragile babies and their mothers have the space, privacy and equipment they need – right here at home.”

Sherry Buckler, Victoria Hospital Foundation

Over the last 12 years, the Give A Little Life Day campaign has raised 5 million dollars for the patients of the Victoria Hospital.
