At Serendipity Bra Boutique, they assist in providing their customers with the best possible fit.
Until last year, women in Prince Albert and area had to drive as far as Saskatoon if they wanted to be fitted and assisted with finding the proper bra size, but not anymore. Owners Deanna Kleiboer, Yvonne Dopson and Kim Semenchuk saw a need for this service in the city and in October of last year opened their doors.
“We want our customers to come in to our store and enjoy the experience and buy what they feel is best,” said Kleiboer. “We will help to educate our customers as to what a good fit is and what a poor fit is so that we can assist them to make the right choice.”
At Serendipity they stock a large range of sizes, and as many different styles of bras you could imagine including: molded or soft cup, nursing, strapless, bustier, and stick-on cups to name a few. They also offer women’s and men’s underwear, Spanx, nightwear and, of course, lingerie.
Kleiboer said sometimes it might be difficult for people to find the right bra; many times they have tried so many different places and so many different sizes that they truly feel that there is nothing out there that will work for them. Often people feel that a bra fitting store is only for women that are in the larger cups sizes. However, at Serendipity, they try to have a variety of sizes for both big and small.
But bras aren’t the only thing they specialize in at Serendipity Bra Boutique. They also offer a wide range of other services that are unique to Prince Albert including wig and breast prosthesis fitting, the newest additions being the Chemo Beanie headwear and LisaB prostheses.
“Serendipity is the only place in Prince Albert where women can get the supplies they need after a mastectomy,” said Kleiboer. “We are specially trained and certified in assisting customers with choosing a wig or breast prosthesis.”
All three owners have seen the effects of cancer with loved ones and understand how important this is to someone going through this experience. Kleiboer said it is a service that they are proud to offer in Prince Albert and area, making the transition after a mastectomy easier for women by avoiding additional travel.
One-on-one assistance is also important at Serendipity Bra Boutique and their goal is to set the standard for customer service. Kleiboer said they want customers to feel welcome and positive about their experiences at the boutique.
“When people come into our store, we want them to feel that we truly did make a big impact on helping them,” said Kleiboer. “We will always try and find the best possible fit and that is what we stand behind.”
“We want to invite people to give us a try. We opened this store for the people in the Prince Albert and area.” said Kleiboer. “We really want customers to leave feeling that we did our best to help them, and ensure that they are happy with what they decided to walk out with.”
Customers can also purchase a variety of accessories at Serendipity including handmade scarves, some jewelry and Watuko head bands, bra extenders, add-a-size, and sew-in cups.
We are also interested in working with care homes to set up appointments and reach out to the women that can’t easily come to us.
