Sep 30, 2014 | 11:39 PM

Good Shepherd Villa, located at 1499-15th Avenue East in Prince Albert, opened its doors in May of 2004.

It is a multilevel Personal Care Home with a capacity of 80 residents.  The Home is committed to an “Aging in Place” philosophy meaning that as residents care needs increase, the staffing component is adjusted accordingly to provide the additional care requirements and peace of mind, which is very important to the residents and their families.

Good Shepherd Villa strives to create a home-like environment that allows the residents to enjoy the quality of life they deserve while maintaining as much independence as possible.  To that end, the Home takes pride in providing excellent care, good nutritious meals, an excellent recreation program and a variety of other services.

The happiness and well being of the residents is of the utmost importance to all of the staff at Good Shepherd Villa.

Pat Chuey, the Administrator at Good Shepherd Villa believes that the staff’s dedication, hard work and loyalty is the main reason they have received the Best of the Best award in 2 consecutive years. The motto is still the same and remains the care home with a heart.

Chuey was also voted as the Best Nurse during this year’s Best of the Best awards. The staff at Good Shepherd have nothing but positive things to say to about her. They agree that Chuey works for her employees and listens to all of their concerns. They said she is an advocate for the people that live at Good Shepherd Villa and she watches out for their best interest and makes sure that what they need gets done.

Chuey began her nursing career 45 years ago at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert and she has been with Good Shepherd since the day they opened in 2004.
