Two killed in crash involving combine near Cudworth

Police and emergency services personnel have confirmed the deaths of two people following a crash near Cudworth Thursday.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. Thursday about seven kilometres south of Cudworth. According to Wakaw RCMP, two women were killed when the vehicle they were in collided with a combine on Highway 2. Police say the women were southbound on the highway when the driver of the combine pulled off a grid road from the the east and onto Highway 2. 

The driver of the combine was not hurt in the incident. A third person in the vehicle, an adult male, was taken to hospital in Saskatoon with undetermined injuries. 

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in this collision. 

The intersection where the crash occurred was blocked off for several hours Thursday evening as an RCMP traffic reconstructionist reviewed the scene. The collision is still under investigation.
