Aug 29, 2018 | 2:00 PM

A new business setting up shop in Shellbrook has created quite a stir amongst residents with a sweet tooth.

Lake Country Co-Op has announced plans for a Dairy Queen (DQ) restaurant to go up near its gas bar at the junction of Highways 55 and three. Geoff German, Director of Growth and Development with Lake Country Co-op said construction will start this fall, with an opening planned for early next year.

“We’re just going through the consulting phase and finalizing blueprints and planning with our consultants, so probably early to mid-spring,” he said.

Lake Country Co-Op owns the property but has entered into an agreement with the franchise lease operator. German said he thought DQ would be a good fit for the community of Shellbrook.
