Morning accidents keep P.A. paramedics busy

Jan 19, 2018 | 1:19 PM

Two motor vehicle collisions kept Parkland Ambulance paramedics busy this morning, according to spokesperson Lyle Karasiuk.

The first accident, involving three vehicles, occurred at 8:30 a.m. on Highway 3 W. roughly 15 km west of Prince Albert, Karasiuk said. Three people were transported to hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries. A witness told paNOW the incident created minor traffic delays in both directions as RCMP restricted the highway to a single lane.

Karasiuk said the second incident occurred just two hours later, on Highway 2 N. near Anglin Lake. Lakeland and District Fire Department also responded to the scene with five members, and worked to control traffic and clear the highway. A 23-year-old male and 25-year-old female were taken to hospital by Parkland staff, Karasiuk said, but once again there were no major injuries.

Although the region has seen unseasonably high temperatures in recent days, Karasiuk could not say whether road conditions were a contributing factor.
