Sports Year in Review: Raiders pick Guhle first overall

As 2017 draws to a close, paNOW is taking a look back on the biggest sports achievements of the year, selected by our sports reporter Jeff D’Andrea.


The Prince Albert Raiders drafting their second Guhle makes our Top 10 Sports Stories for 2017.

The last time the Raiders had a pick in the top three, they picked Kaiden’s older brother Brendan Guhle third overall in 2012.

The Raiders didn’t have a first overall pick since 2001 when they picked Kyle Chipchura.

In an unprecedented event, the Raiders held a signing ceremony with Guhle, and other top picks in Cohner Saleksi and Ozzy Wiesblatt.
