Local first nation headed for new leadership

It is Election Day on a local First Nation.

Band members belonging to the Kinistin-Saulteaux First Nation are casting a ballot.

There are three people running for chief, Albert Scott, Tina Thomas and Richard Lumberjack.

Former Chief Peter Nippi opted against running again.

There are 23 candidates for the five council seats.

Band members can vote at the band hall.

The First Nation is located southeast of Melfort.
