Police raid home, seize drugs, on James Smith Cree Nation

One woman is facing drug trafficking charges after the emergency response team executed a warrant this morning, May 28.

Around 6:15 a.m. Melfort RCMP along with the emergency response team and the RCMP Police Dog Service executed a controlled drugs and substances warrant at a home on James Smith Cree Nation.

Officers seized marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. There were no injuries.

Erica Moostoos, 30, who is from James Smith Cree Nation was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Moostoos made her first appearance this morning in Melfort provincial court. She will appear in court again on June 27.
