Police continue to look for suspect in July robbery

The Prince Albert Police are looking for a suspected robber from an incident that took place in July.  

Police were dispatched at approximately 8:36 p.m. on July 16, 2015, to a business where a man entered the premise with weapon, believed to be a firearm, and demanded money and cigarettes.

The man was able to flee with an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes southeast on foot.

No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as male. He was seen wearing a grey bandana on his face, a black hooded sweater, black pants and black shoes with white trim around the bottoms.

Police are waiting for forensic analysis results from clothing believed to be worn by the suspect that was seized by the police during the commission.

Through surveillance footage, the police have observed a person of interest in the case. The person is believed to be female and is wearing jeans and a black hoodie with white or yellow writing on the front.

Back to school zone speed restrictions

The Prince Albert Police are reminding people that school zone speed restrictions will be enforced beginning September 1.

Motorists must reduce their speed in school zones to 30 km/hour from September until the end of July. School zones are in effect Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The police would also like to remind motorists to exercise the utmost caution while driving by schools that reside on major roads that do not have speed restrictions.

Over 300 calls over the weekend

The Police had another busy weekend with 339 calls for service. Fifty-eight of the calls were for disturbances, and 50 were for intoxicated persons.

52 arrests were made with 30 of them being arrests for public intoxication.

Nine people were arrested on outstanding warrants and five people were arrested on new charges.

Five people were remanded over the weekend and have had their court appearances Monday morning.

There was one person charged with impaired driving.

A total of 91 calls were made on Friday, 139 on Saturday, and 109 on Sunday.
