Rainfall warnings issued for parts of south, central Sask.

Environment Canada issued a heavy rainfall warning for Saskatoon and areas north and east overnight.

“Rainfall criteria is 50 millimitres and Saskatoon is going to be right on the borderline,” Mike McDonald, meteorologist with Environment Canada, said.

As of Tuesday morning, Saskatoon had received about half that amount.

The warning is also in effect for Delisle, Rosthern, Langham, Aberdeen, Wakaw and northeast to Melfort and Nipawin, although McDonald said those communities will likely see less rain than Saskatoon.

No other severe weather has been reported in the central part of the province. McDonald said the rain will taper-off across the province Tuesday night.

The City of Regina is also under a warning for rainfall and wind.
