Montana’s expected to open next spring

If you’re concerned about the lack of construction at the proposed site of Prince Albert’s newest steak house, don’t be.

Montana’s franchise owner for the Prince Albert location, Devin Panchuk, said that despite a few corporate backlogs everything is a go for the restaurant.

However, the opening date has been pushed back significantly.

“It looks like we have been pushed off roughly six months from our original opening date,” said Panchuk. “We’ll be open, by the looks of it around April 1st of 2015.”

So far, only managers have been hired.

“We won’t probably start hiring more until within about two months of opening, but we are looking for people to send in their resumes if they’re looking at having that first shot at jobs,” said Panchuk. “Once we start training, which will be about December, [the managers] will start.”

Looking ahead to the new Montana’s, Panchuk said that this will be the third Montana’s in Canada that will feature a brand new look for the business.

“It’s going to be the state of the art new place in town, and a new look for Montana’s,” said Panchuk. “Prince Albert will have the most recent up to date one.”

He said that the franchise is taking the look in a more modern direction.

“It’s still going to have the same kind of rock work on the front and that kind of outdoorsy feel,” said Panchuk. “There’ll be seat cushions instead of just plain wood seats, new lighting, more modern but still in keeping with that outfitter camp type look.”

He said the window area will be painted red and some other newer colours to help the restaurant pop a lot more.
