SIGA board chair, Kirk Goodtrack, suspended for second time

It is the second suspension of Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) Board chair Kirk Goodtrack.

A Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) economic community development meeting took place in Saskatoon on Wednesday.

Goodtrack confirmed those in attendance suspended him, but adds he wasn't there for the decision and calls the document outlining his suspension merely a “draft.”

He added the decision could be reversed at an upcoming Indian Government Commission meeting.

Goodtrack also plans on meeting with the provincial government in early October.

He was seen as a reform-minded chair looking to cut costs on the SIGA board.

Goodtrack has claimed before his suspension was partially due to him and former FSIN Chief Guy Lonechild agreeing that board costs needed to be drastically cut.
