The Prince Albert Aces got off to a storming start at the Under-16 A Girls Softball Provincials they’re hosting this weekend, beating the Saskatoon Lasers 14-1 on a soggy Friday morning at Max Power Ball Parks.

The Aces exploded in the second inning with nine runs, highlighted by an inside-the-park grand slam from Carnell Olsen. Olsen was 3-3 at the plate with four runs scored and three runs batted in.

Aces shortstop Kenzie Demers was 4-4 at the plate with an inside-the-park home run, a triple and a pair of singles.

In just four innings of work, Aces pitcher Erin Kirkland struck out seven batters and surrendered two hits. One of those hits came in the fourth inning, a solo inside-the-park home run from Laser third baseman Camden Swirsky. The game was ended after four complete innings due to the mercy rule.
