Sources says BHP may sweeten their offer

It seems there's not much more the Premier can do today.

Brad Wall has made his position against a BHP Billiton takeover of Potash Corp clear.

What remains to be seen, is whether the Australian Mining company will sweeten its offer.

There are some conflicting reports on whether Australia's BHP Billiton will add anything to their bid to make Stephen Harper's choice a little easier.

There's a report out of the Sunday Times in London claiming the company could raise its bid of $130 US a share as much as 10 per cent.

But Post Media news reports this morning that BHP is just focusing on getting approval on the current offer.

The premier last week travelled to Toronto and there was talk of him maybe getting a few minutes with the Prime Minister in the capital, but that didn't materialize.

The federal government could announce its decision any time before the deadline Wednesday.
