Elections for the RM of Prince Albert

The 2010 municipal elections for several Rural Municipalities in the area are set for today.

In the R.M. of Prince Albert, three people are looking to take the position of Reeve. The current Reeve, Leonard Blocka, is running again and is up against Norma Sheldon and Larry Morrow.

There are also elections for divisions one, two and three. There are six divisions in the RM of Prince Albert.
The odd numbered divisions have their elections this year. The Even numbered divisions will have their elections next year.

Running in division one is incumbent Ernest Medd and Ted Hordec.

For division three there are four hopeful candidates including incumbent Leslie Erikson, Guy St. Hilaire, Thomas Porter and Bob Plasko.

Running against Charmaine Bergman in division five is Wayne Acorn, and Eugene Matwishyn.

The vote for Reeve and the division positions will happen between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Municipal Centennial Building, 99 River St. E. in Prince Albert.

In the R.M. of Garden River, incumbent Reeve Bernard Zurakowski is being challenged by Brian Snell.
Divisions in the municipality had their incumbents reinstated through acclamation.

In the R.M. of Paddock Wood incumbent Reeve Brent Zbaraschuk is challenged by nominees Lance Fehr and Gerald Nagy.

Paddock Wood's Divisions 1 and 2 are also having elections.

In Division one, incumbent George Aramenko is running against David Korody. Division two is currently vacant and will see a race between Doug Kerley and Marlene Palibroda.

In the R.M.s of Buckland, Lakeland, reeves and councillors were reinstated by acclaimation.

Results for the elections will be released on Thursday.
