Saskatchewan upsets Calgary 20-16 in CFL’s West final to advance to Grey Cup
CALGARY – The Saskatchewan Roughriders are going back to the Grey Cup with an opportunity to exorcise the ghosts of last year's debacle in the CFL championship game.
The Roughriders downed the Calgary Stampeders 20-16 in a frigid West final Sunday at McMahon Stadium. They earned a rematch with Montreal, who won the East final 48-17 earlier Sunday over the visiting Toronto Argonauts.
Saskatchewan and Montreal meet next Sunday in Edmonton for the CFL's championship trophy.
Leading 27-25 in the final minute of last year's Grey Cup in Calgary, the Roughriders began celebrating a title when Alouettes kicker Damon Duval missed a 43-yard field goal attempt with no time remaining.
