Latimer released

After spending the last decade behind bars, Robert Latimer is now a free man.

The Wilkie-area farmer was convicted of second-degree murder for killing his severely disabled daughter back in 1993.

Latimer has always maintained it was a “mercy killing.”

Family members expect Latimer to return to Wilkie, after his release Monday morning.

Latimer's parole conditions order him to attend psychological counselling and restrict him from making decisions for “significantly disabled people.”
