The winter storm watch issued for Prince Albert has been lifted.
There will still be some nasty weather for the surrounding region however.
Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for the Melfort, Tisdale, and Nipawin areas.
Those areas could get up to half a foot of snow by late Wednesday.
“Sometime this evening, closer to midnight, the snow should start,” said meteorologilist Al Skiba.
The Prince Albert area is expected to get some snow as well, but not nearly as much as Melfort.
Skiba said Prince Albert could see between two and four inches of snow by Wednesday.
The big concern is freezing rain.
“The further south you go in the province, the more likely freezing rain is to occur. Prince Albert is not expecting much, just a slight risk,” said Skiba.
He said people should be aware that the weather is changing and they should check with the Highway Hotline for road conditions.
The good news is that the storm will pass through quickly.
“It goes on for much of the overnight period, part of Wednesday, then it's done,” said Skiba. “It won't be sunny but the big system will have passed through.”
