Lotto win makes Christmas a little better

A Smeaton resident received and early Christmas present and is $250,000 richer.

Keith Downes purchased a $5 Lotto 649 ticket for the Nov. 20 draw, with the extra entered. He bought the ticket at the Smeaton Co-op.

He said later when he checked his lotto numbers, only one matched, but when he checked the extra, they all matched.

He plans to share his winnings with his family.
